Diagnostic Engineer – Milling Machines (Heidenhain / Siemens)

About the Opportunity

Our client is a well-established industrial company specialising in high-precision machine tools. Due to continued growth, they are looking to recruit a Diagnostic Engineer to join their technical support team in Biel.

This is an excellent opportunity for a technically minded professional with strong CNC troubleshooting experience who enjoys solving complex technical issues and supporting customers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and resolve technical issues on CNC milling machines.
  • Provide technical support to customers via phone, email and remote support tools.
  • Analyse electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic and CNC-related faults.
  • Interpret electrical schematics to identify and resolve machine issues.
  • Collaborate with internal technical teams to ensure efficient problem resolution.
  • Document interventions and technical findings using SAP and internal systems.
  • Deliver a high level of customer service while ensuring timely issue resolution.

Your Profile

Essential requirements:

  • Proven experience with Heidenhain 530, 620 or 640 and/or Siemens CNC control systems.
  • Strong knowledge of pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
  • Electrical knowledge, including the ability to read and understand electrical schematics.
  • Basic mechanical knowledge, particularly relating to machine construction and drive systems.
  • Experience providing technical support to customers.
  • Good working knowledge of SAP and Microsoft Office 365.
  • Fluent German (mandatory).

Nice to have:

  • English and/or French.

Recruitment Process

  • Initial 30-minute interview (video call or on-site in Biel) with the Hiring Manager and HR.
  • Half-day practical assessment (approximately 4 hours) in Biel.
  • Final offer.
