DevOps Lead

The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced DevOps Lead to drive the engineering practices, CI/CD pipelines, and delivery infrastructure supporting a large-scale Manufacturing Execution System (MES) programme.

Working within a regulated manufacturing environment, you will play a key role in delivering secure, reliable, and scalable software releases while collaborating closely with development, testing, validation, and operations teams. Experience with Emerson Syncade or other enterprise MES platforms is highly desirable.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines for MES deployments.
• Lead the DevOps toolchain, including source control, build automation, release management, and environment provisioning.
• Manage MES environments and ensure reliable, secure, and repeatable deployments.
• Work closely with development, testing, and validation teams to embed automation and quality throughout the software delivery lifecycle.
• Support Computer System Validation (CSV) activities and maintain compliant deployment and change control processes.
• Implement monitoring, logging, and alerting solutions to improve system reliability and performance.
• Drive continuous improvement across deployment processes, automation, and infrastructure.
• Act as the technical lead for infrastructure, deployment, and operational support.

About You

You will have:

• Proven experience as a DevOps Lead or Senior DevOps Engineer.
• Strong hands-on experience with CI/CD tools such as Azure DevOps, Jenkins, or GitHub Actions.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Ansible, or similar).
• Proficiency in scripting languages such as PowerShell, Bash, or Python.
• Experience managing enterprise application environments and release processes.
• Previous experience working within regulated industries such as pharmaceuticals, life sciences, or medical devices.
• Strong troubleshooting, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

Desirable

• Experience supporting or deploying Emerson Syncade or another MES platform.
• Knowledge of GxP, CSV, and GAMP 5.
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, or other container technologies.
• Understanding of MES integrations with SAP, LIMS, and manufacturing systems.
• Knowledge of infrastructure security, vulnerability management, and OT/IT environments.
