Job Responsibilities:
- Assess and underwrite complex risks across various sectors, utilizing advanced analytical skills to evaluate applications and proposals.
- Engage with clients to gather necessary documentation and information to determine risk profiles.
- Collaborate with brokers and clients to tailor insurance solutions that meet their unique needs and requirements.
- Monitor and review current policies and claims to ensure compliance and to identify opportunities for coverage enhancements.
- Provide expert advice and guidance to clients on risk management strategies and insurance products.
- Participate in training and development programs to stay current with trends in the insurance market and regulatory requirements.
- Prepare detailed reports and presentations for management and stakeholders related to risk assessment findings.
- Develop and maintain relationships with third-party risk assessors and other professionals in the industry.
Essential Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, insurance, business administration, or a related field.
- Professional certification in underwriting or risk management is a plus (e.g., CPCU, AU, etc.).
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills, with attention to detail.
- Exceptional communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to build rapport with diverse clients.
- Fluent in French; proficiency in additional languages is an advantage.
Desired Experience:
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in underwriting, with a focus on complex risks and commercial insurance.
- Proven track record of evaluating and managing high-value risks.
- Experience in a brokerage or insurance company environment preferred.
- Familiarity with current industry regulations and compliance standards.
