About the Company
Our client is a leading engineering and energy infrastructure company, involved in the design and delivery of HVDC, HVAC and offshore grid connection projects across Europe.
As part of its rapid growth in interconnectors and offshore wind transmission systems, the company is looking for an experienced Cable Systems Engineer to join its multidisciplinary engineering team and support the design, technical supervision, and installation of high-voltage subsea and land cable systems.
⚙️ Main Responsibilities
As a key member of the project engineering team, you will manage all technical aspects related to cable systems:

Perform design and calculation studies for HVDC/HVAC cable systems (thermal, mechanical, EMC, losses).

Define technical specifications, participate in tenders and vendor selection (manufacturers, installers, marine contractors).

Prepare engineering documentation (data sheets, ITTs, design reports, route layouts).

Coordinate submarine and onshore route engineering (bathymetry, geotechnical, environmental studies).

Supervise cable manufacturing, testing, logistics and installation operations.

Oversee FAT/SAT and HV testing (OTDR, TDR, insulation, sheath integrity).

Interface with substation, civil, and marine installation teams to ensure system integration.

Ensure compliance with IEC / CIGRÉ standards and client specifications.
Profile
-
Engineering degree in Electrical Engineering / Offshore Engineering / Power Systems.

5+ years of experience in subsea or underground HV cable systems (HVDC/HVAC).

Solid knowledge of XLPE, MI, terminations, joints, sheath bonding and earthing systems.

Proficient in ETAP, DIgSILENT PowerFactory, Matlab, AutoCAD, GIS.

Familiar with IEC and CIGRÉ standards and qualification testing.

Background in offshore wind, TSO, EPC, or cable manufacturing is highly valued.

Fluent in English (French or another European language is a plus).

Autonomous, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in technical and international environments.
Compensation & Benefits

Competitive package: €65,000 – €100,000 / year + project bonuses + benefits.
