Production Planner

Production Planner (Metal Fabrication Industry)
English and Dutch speaker
Permanent contract – Zwevegem, Belgium

Our client is the world leader in perimeter protection solutions.
They manufacture quality fencing systems to secure people, property and businesses around the world.
Production Planner will be responsible for organizing and coordinating production of products to ensure our goods are produced on time to meet the needs of our customers while satisfying quality, inventory, cost and delivery requirements.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Planning the production of semi-finished and finished products in the allocated area with the use of machinery and equipment.
  • Preparation of a production plan for machines and production cells, including reconstructions and shutdowns.
  • Creating production orders in the SAP/IFS ERP program for individual machines and products.
  • Ordering materials according to calculations and real demand
  • Ensuring the timely execution of production orders.
  • Planning, PO scheduling, and co-ordination of external sub-contract services and purchased parts.
  • Cooperation with subcontractors and co-operator’s in the implementation of production processes.
  • Assist management to resolve problems with late shipments, material shortages, customer schedule changes, and cancellations of customer orders.
  • Providing required documents to production department
  • Calculating and creating the demand for materials, raw materials and semi-finished products.
  • Entering appropriate data and records into the SAP/IFS system.
  • Realization of annual production goals concerning work efficiency, machine efficiency, stock level, scrap and non-conforming products.
  • Compliance with health and safety and fire protection regulations.
  • Cooperation with other employees in achieving the company's goals.

Profile :

  • Higher education with the profile related to production planning/sourcing.
  • +3 years’ experience in planning and scheduling in a manufacturing facility
  • Fluency and proficiency in the practical application of MRP logic, scheduling logic, order policies, capacity planning, input/output control, product structures, routings, and standards maintenance.
  • Fluent in English and Dutch both written and spoken
  • IFS &/or SAP experience is very advantageous
  • Knowledgeable in master scheduling, production planning and detailed scheduling, demand management, purchasing, and cost accounting techniques.
  • Experience with inventory management.
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills.
  • Experience and familiarity with Lean Manufacturing concepts.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, and any leading supply chain management software.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, adapting quickly to changing priorities.
