In her opinion, being a good listener and having a customer service awareness is the most important. Having a strong personality is also mandatory as you will have to manage people with strong personalities. You need to be able to supervise and motivate them. For that reason, we don’t get thrown off balance.
Everyone can’t be a manager and it’s essential to have the management streak. People who don’t have the personality for it or the skills required for this job won’t get this role even if they are very good sales consultants. A manager can have fewer years’ experience than some sales assistants he manages just because he has what it takes.
You are a hard worker and don’t count your hours. You will have double pressure as you will have to make sure your sales assistants reach their individual targets and you reach yours. Being a manager means more responsibilities and additional stress you have to handle.
You already have an experience in fashion. Companies usually hire people with relevant experience as the way of working in fashion is very specific.
Be interested in your company’s commercial policy and be target-driven. Wanting your shop to be the best one in terms of revenue and making a point to overcome your monthly target will make you stand out from the crowd.
